Give the Dems a Chance?

Thinking we can allow the Democrats to have the House for two years, then take it back is pure Wally Pipp-ery.
Give the kid a chance to play said Wally.  We all know what happened. That's probably the last time anyone remembered anything Wally said.
Wally Pippery- 1-a noun meaning allowing someone  to take over your job with supreme confidence that you will get it back.
2- Giving a rival a chance.

Time to fight

Time for Republicans to stand up and fight. No backpeddling nor appologizing.  Foley should have switched Parties, that way he would have not had to resign. A molester would be right at home in the Donkey Party.

Everyone's alright

On so many TV Dramas and movies one character asks another "You Alright" after some sort of incident.  They are usually both standing there looking alright so I'm thinking maybe the questioner is asking about mental health. "I know you are mentally fragile so that's why I want to know-you alright?". "You are right on the edge mentally and any small thing could push you over ,so-you alright?" I think this practice should be done away with because I find it very annoying.  Let's just assume anyone standing there looking alright is alright and leave it at that.

New Bond Film: Doctor A

The Iranian leader would be a typical villian for a James Bond film.  Doctor A, determined to get nuclear weapons to hold the world hostage. He is sure he will succeed because of his extreme cruelty and dedication. We don't know whether or not he will , but we must defeat his plans. James' solution would be to sleep with some beatiful women, do some skiing, confront the villain over a Blackjack table in an exclusive Casino (Hopefully excluding the type of people I've seen in the Casinos I've been in), get himself captured, and destroy the enemy headquarters from within.
Things probably won't be so easy for us, but I think we can defeat this guy and his horrible plan by standing up to him at the earliest possible date.
If we have to attack physically, it should be in a way he and his country would never expect. Asymetric warfare, I think we would be pretty good at that game. All the things we fear they would try to do to us, we can do to them many times over. How about and electronic pulse to destroy all their electronics, anthrax, poison gas? Lacking suicide pilots, what about remote control planes? A remote control 747 packed with the latest expolsives, painted to look like an ordinary airliner, flies into Teheran and at the last minute veers into whatever building their leaders are in and with luck, a regime change?

Whose Koran?

I think one must be able to justify anything he wants by citing the Koran. At least that seems to be what is going on right now. I've heard people claim the Koran supports violence and peace, humane and savage treatment of Infidels. So when someone says they have to do something becuase the Koran requires it, the question is "Does it?"

Death Watch

Some are beginning to celebrate in advance that the number of dead in Iraq and Afghanistan will soon equal the number killed on 9-11. The number we should compare to, however, is the number who would have been killed had we done nothing, a number we can never know.
Had someone done something about the Nazis in the early days of their regime, as soon as they violated the treaties putting World War on hold, perhaps there would have been no resumption of hostilities and upwards of 50 Million people would have been able to live out their natural lives. The problem is, however small the number killed in the confrontation, some would view it as a total waste because the number of lives saved would forever remain unknown.
So I consider the above an exercise in partisanship on a level to which only fanatics would stoop and by which only fools would be influenced.

A Vote for the Dems...

A vote for the Dems is a vote for what? Someone please explain.  If that party has any principles they care to talk about, it's about time they got started.  Power, is it a principle? It seems to be the only thing motivating the donkey party. Perhaps the voters will offically revoke their status as a National Political Party.  Let's hope.

Plan Fans

I've read from time to time that some terror groups have plans that extend well into the future.  Often the author has great admiration and seems to think that if someone has a plan, all he has to do is wait for events to play right into his hands. I think it is just as likely they will hold onto their plan long after they should have realized events are going in an entirely different direction. Thus, the plan will make them less likely to succeed. The longer the plan extends into the future, the more it is probable it will inhibit success. Make a plan to do something in 2016 and try to figure  out every change that will take place between now and then that would affect the plan. Store up poison gas to be used on troops attacking your country, by then soldiers might be replaced by robots.
The point is I think these plans are overrated.  Events may play into the hands of some long range planner, but more likely success will fall to those who are capable of adapting quickly. The later is a better description of us than them.

Goodness in the Opponent II

I trust that God has given all humanity the basic goodness that we can prevent the destruction we are capable of through reliance on this gift of the Creator, that we are all brothers and sisters and love each other. I am confident President Bush believes this and has been acting according to his faith in God and humanity.

Know ourselves

Ignorance of human nature is common in politics, but almost unknown in everyday life.  If someone owes you 100 dollars, hands you a pile of bills and says here is your 100 dollars, you count them and either confirm or dispute that it is indeed 100 Dollars. In politics this is beyond the pale. How dare you question me! Let all distinguished Senators and Representatives from the various "Great States" back up their statements with fact before we believe them.

Lincoln Now

"We are not enimies, but friends" President Lincoln said in his first inaugural address. Too bad so much blood was shed by South and North before that became apparent to both. Let Lincoln guide us in our present political situation.

Seeds

It is hard  to blame President Clinton  for 911, because he was and is just a Good Time Charlie, irresponsible, and hard to get mad at.  Electing him to the Presidency was
"The" mistake.  Perhaps the fall of the Soviet Union provoked such giddiness that some thought we could elect anyone President. As has been said, the seeds of defeat are contained in Victory.  He seemed like a nice guy, why not give him a chance?

German Tragedy

World Wars I and II could have been avoided had Germany, like the United States, not sought World Dominance. It is a great blessing to the human race that the Nation that had Superpower Status thrust upon it , did not desire it, and looks forward to the day when it no longer is needed in this role. May God Bless America and keep it safe.

What about WW I?

American troops were in active combat in WW I only from June 1918 until early November. 115,000 American Troops were killed. That is about 1,000 pre Day! Hello, that is true War. Hopefully we shall never experience it again.

Adapted to what?

Does each individual have a special purpose? Perhaps we are like cells in the human body, specialized for a certain purpose! Ever wonder why we all aren't Bill Gates or Donald Trump?
Perhaps you were created for another purpose, maybe even a more important one.
