Rooting for America

I believe 80% of the World's people are rooting for the United States to succeed in spreading Freedom, but they won't be able to confirm that until they have that Freedom. Oddly enough the 20% who aren't rooting for the US probably reside in countries that already have Freedom.

The Other George W

I can't help but be annoyed by George Will.  I'm suspicious why he seems to be the only "Conservative" approved by the MSM.  Is he actually working with the left or do they just like him because he makes conservative people look foolish? Some say he is super intelligent. I doubt it.  He seems to complicate things and use a form of logic that often leads to ridiculous positions.  On defense he seems to ask not is it necessary to defend the United States, is it right, or is it possible, but is it "Conservative".  Ask the wrong questions and get the wrong answers.

Is There a Point?

Is there a point to the Democratic Party? Who can tell us what it's purpose is? It certainly is not for Defense of the Country, to keep taxes low nor to root out corruption.   I isn't for strengthening American values such as self reliance, honesty, fairness or truthfulness.  It isn't to make the economy bigger or to encourage new business.
I could name many things that are not the purpose of the Democratic Party, but can't think of one thing that is.
   Your help would be appreciated.

Neoafghans

What ever happened to those who, right after 9-11 were screaming that, of course our Country was attacked by terrorists trained in Afghanistan, we helped them repell the Soviets in the 80's, then just walked out on them and left them on their own? These people ,if they would speak up now, could be of trememdous value in supporting the policy of staying to rebuild Iraq after kicking Sadaam Hussein out.
A cynic might say they are the same people who oppose our rebuilding of Iraq. Their logic would be "whatever the US does is wrong". To paraphrase Stephen Decatur-My Country, always wrong.
If some of these people who claimed to be Hawks on rebuilding Afghanistan in the 80's don't make themselves heard soon, I will have to assume the cynics are right.

Truth and Honor

Armitage and Powell should have come forward immediately to save the Country the Wilson/Plame ordeal. Are they familiar with the concepts of Truth, Honor, Courage, Integrity, and Patriotism, or have they forgotten all but self interest?

Goodness in your Opponent

I hope a few percent of the Democrats can't take the present day Democratic Party and peel off to either not vote, vote some small party, or come all the way over and support the Republican Party.  Our GOP disappoints in some areas, but in the real world we have to expect this.  The Democratic Party may be reformed if it has no success in today's outrageous behavior. To support it in its present stance is to prolong this behavior.

Reflections of a Casey Voter

I voted for Bob Casey's father, the real Bob Casey, twice.  I respected the Father as the Old kind of Democrat, who I disagreed with on certain things, but still considered an honorable man. His Republican opponent, Barbara Hafer, made it plain she was anti-Philadelphia, where I live, and apparently thought that alone would get her elected.  She has now become a Democrat, so my guilt about voting for a Democrat is lessened. Perhaps if the Real Bob Casey were still alive, he would now be a Republican. Maybe he be allowed to speak at the Republican Convention. His son is a go along to get along guy. The name should not be transferable.

Party Paradox

Can someone be a good man in a bad Party?  You know a man by the company he keeps.  To vote for a Democrat because he is supposedly a "Good Man" is a big mistake. If he were a good man, he would not associate with the  collection of scoundrels known as the today's Democratic Party

Santorumania

Plan-
Defeat the whole Democratic strategy for taking over the Senate by concentrating on one race-The Santorum-Casey Race in Pennsylvania. This is the one the Dems want most, for idealogical more than practical reasons.  Turning them back here is like turning back the Germans at Bastogne, or the Persians at Marathon.

Don't Cry for Me Pennsylvania

I have a growing confidence Rick Santorum will win  re-election in November. Casey has agreed to 2 debates, which is bad for someone trying to disguise his positions. He did this because Santorun is closing on him. Media estimates of the race always include some wishful thinking, and since there is no one they want to defeat more than Senator Rick, the distortion is probably larger than normal.
I voted for Casey's father twice for Governor despite his being a Democrat, but I am not impressed by the son as I was with the father.

Graveyard of Terms

Can we deep six the expression"talking truth to Power"? It is so seldom anyone talks truth to despotic power that I find it misleading.  Could we also retire"drinking the Kool Aid', "How to cook a Frog", and "re-aranging the Deck Chairs on the Titanic"?

True Service

Many in Washington claim to be serving America, but Donald Rumsfeld is an example of the purest  service ever given this Country. His strength, steadyness, clarity of thought, and good humor are a credit and a critical asset to America. His ability, experience, and hard work are a unique blessing to our wonderful Country.  His selfless contribution to America will be celebrated as long as there are Americans to celebrate.

Anger

Is it OK to be angry at the  dirty tricks the Democrats have used to try to thwart  the Bush Administration? Is it OK to be angry at their apparent lack of concern that America may suffer possibly catastrophic colatteral damage as a result of their campaign? I think it is the duty of every citizen of the United States to let the Democrats know in no uncertain terms,,that what they are doing is not a permissable part of being the minority, but disgraceful, dishonest, low down, nasty, unacceptable behavior. They deserve total devastation at the ballot box

Plame and Katrina

Both of these controversies were trumped up by the Democrats and the Media to  distract and discredit the Bush Administration. Loyal Opposition?  I don't think so.

Iran the Superpower.

Will Iran be able to keep up with The US in weapons? We should not overestimate our enemy.  They shot a missle from a submarine that could damage a surface ship.  I would think we know where their subs are and would attack them right at the beginning of hostilities if ther were any.
There is a tendency to enlarge any enemy to the size we are used to ,i.e. the former Soviet Union.
Iran has targets that can be hit in retaliation. The big threat is they develope WMD and slip them to someone else. Teheran is a big target, so if their envolvement were suspected, it would be in danger from us.
Iran is dangerous, but not like the Soviet Union or even today's Russia.  A cool head hopefully can find a solution to this problem, and I think President Bush can do the job.
